The
Emerald Bay Marathon
Friday Sept 24, 2010
The Cal-Neva Marathon
Saturday
September 25, 2010
as of August 11, 2010
In response to runners who
wanted to do two marathons and a bike ride we have added two a la carte options on Friday
& Saturday. Or for other reasons can not run on Sunday we allow a la carte
runners for the Friday or
Saturday marathons.
The Friday Emerald Bay Marathon is from
Emerald Bay to Spooner Lake-Hwy 28 to Incline Village intersection area. There
is no lodging near or at the start area except for an 11 or so camp spaces across
the street from the start area. First half is California and the second half is in
Nevada.
The Saturday Cal-Neva Marathon is the fastest
of the 3 marathons with the first 11 mile basically down hill. First half of the
Marathon is in Nevada and the second half is in California.
The Friday and Saturday Marathons
are each run basically half in CA and half in NV. Either of these races can be
counted for either state in your quest to run all 50 states.
You will running either of these
two marathon with the Triple Marathoners .
There is a different finishers medals
for each day, finishers license plate holders and wind shirts will be awarded just like the
regular marathon on Sunday. No age division or other awards will be given.
Like the Triple Marathoners,
the Friday and Saturday Marathons will require you to provide a support vehicle for yourself or
to team with other runners to provide for your running needs.
Only a few fixed aid stations are provided to the 125 to 150 of you, along with
some roving aid stations.
So now you can do a marathon on
Friday, Bike on Saturday, and do another running event, including a
relay on Sunday. Mix and match whatever interests you.
For both all 3 marathons
shuttle buses will leave from the Horizon Resort Casino Race morning to the start lines. You
will need to arrange your own transportation after the run.
A la carte Marathoners are invited
to the Triple Marathon dinner on Thursday night. But dinner is not included. Pay
at the door or just come in and listen.
