Our 9  A.M. start time allows you to drive up from Reno or Sacramento area and
catch the shuttle bus from Miller's Outpost at the Y to the 10K start line if you are pre-registered.

Shuttle buses leave Millers Outpost at 7:40 am and at 7:30 am from the Horizon Casino

The 10K is the last 6.2 miles of the marathon course and is for runners, walkers, or joggers.

The 10K starts atop beautiful Emerald Bay and is an all downhill run (99% downhill) viewing Emerald bay, Cascade Lake, and Lake Tahoe itself. The last 3 miles pass by aspen trees in their Fall color and over Taylor Creek filled with fire cracker red spawning Kokanee Salmon and then into the lake front Valhalla Historical Estates.

The spectacular start line area can be viewed in the movie "City of Angels" where Meg Ryan bikes down the narrow spine of the ridge over looking Emerald Bay, Cascade Lake, and Tahoe itself. Rent the film and see it in the last 15 minutes of the film.
This may be the prettiest run you ever do.
